Welcome to the web site of the District Grand Council of Sussex of the Order of the Allied Masonic Degrees.
Allied Masonry has existed in Sussex since the consecration of Grafton Council in 1897 but the District of Sussex
is rather newer, having been constituted on 13th February 2007 following the partitioning of a much larger District.
are now nineteen Districts in England & Wales operating under the
authority of Grand Council, with Sussex being the youngest. Being a new
District, we are very enthusiastic and all meetings are well attended
with a high standard of ritual enjoyed.
are now seven Councils in the District, meeting at Brighton, Uckfield,
Bexhill, Chichester, Worthing, East Grinstead and Peacehaven.
Peacehaven being the venue for the seventh Council, Friars' Bay, which
was Consecrated on July 1st 2009.
To join us in this
most interesting Order you must be a Royal Arch Mason as well as a Mark
Master Mason as the five degrees worked will add to your knowledge of
both. As in all Masonic Orders there are useful lessons to be learned
from all of the degrees, three of which are fairly short and it is not
unusual to take two or sometimes three during one meeting.
take a little time to read some of the history of the Order, the
summaries of the five degrees and the information on the Councils in
I look forward to welcoming you into one of our Councils in the very near future.
